The Master of Science (Industrial and Systems Engineering) program is designed to provide graduate level education to prepare individuals for a lifelong career addressing critical engineering and managerial decision making, in the manufacturing and service sectors. It is conducted on both part-time and full-time basis. The Program also offers optional specializations in Logistics & Operations Research and Project Management.

Students admitted to this program are expected to have at least a good bachelor's degree with honors in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline. It is conducted on both part-time and full-time basis. Candidates applying for the part-time program should preferably have had a period of relevant practical experience after obtaining their first degrees. There are 2 intakes per year in August and January. Applications for admission to the program will be open from January to March for the August Intake and July to September for the January Intake of the following year.

Limited Financial Assistances are available for students from selected countries.

   
   
Modules Offered
   
 

All graduate modules comprise 39 hours of lecture and are assigned 4 MCs. Lectures are conducted on weekday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Degree Requirements (July 2003 intake onwards)
   
 

The M.Sc.(ISE) degree requires the completion of at least 40 modular credits (MCs) in coursework with a minimum cumulative average point (CAP) of 3.0 as follows:

(a) The four ISE graduate foundation modules IE5001, IE5002, IE5003 and IE5004 (Total 16 MCs).

   
(b)

At least 16 MCs of ISE elective graduate modules at level 5000 and above.
   
(c)

Subject to the Department’s approval, the remaining MCs may be from modules outside the Department and at level 4000 or above.
