A decomposition analysis technique developed at the NUS Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISE) by Professor Ang Beng Wah and his team is now widely used.

Professor Goh Thong Ngee has been awarded the prestigious American Society for Quality (ASQ) Eugene L Grant Medal, at a ceremony held in Anaheim, CA, USA on 20 May.
Professor LC Tang won the RAMS 2011 Ralph A. Evans / P. K. McElroy Award for Best Paper
The paper entitled "Spare Provisioning for Repairable Systems under Fleet Expansion" by Professor LC Tang and his former PhD student, Dr Liu Xiao, has been selected for the RAMS 2011 Ralph A. Evans/P. K. McElroy Award for Best Paper.
Professor Tang Loon Ching receives Best Application Paper Award in IIE Transactions
Professor Tang Loon Ching and his team have been awarded the Best Application Paper in quality and reliability engineering for their paper entitled "A Reliability Modeling Framework for the Hard Disk Drive Development Process" published in IIE Transactions, the flagship journal of the Institute of Industrial Engineers.The paper was also featured by the IIE Magazine last yearimmediately after its publication.
Systems Engineering Technique Developed by Prof Ang Gaining Ground in Public Policy Analysis
A technique developed by Professor ANG Beng Wah and his collaborators to study a complex system by decomposing changes in an aggregate related to the system into components and quantifying the impacts of the relevant determinants has been adopted by a growing number of researchers and analysts in public policy analysis.
Professor Goh Thong Ngee Received the William G. Hunter Award from the American Society for Quality
Professor Goh Thong Ngee of the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department was named the 2007 recipient of the William G. Hunter Award.
FOE bags Inaugural Book Award of the International Academy for Quality
Professor Goh Thong Ngee of the Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) Department, who is also Director of the Center for Design Technology of the Faculty of Engineering, was named the first recipient of the Masing Prize on 23 May 2007 during a plenary session of the 51st Congress of the EOQ in Prague.
Best Paper Award for the 19th Asia Quality Symposium, September 2005, Taipei
The Asian Network for Quality conducts an annual international symposium for the presentation of research and development in the philosophy, theory, methodology, and application of quality. The theme for this year's symposium is "Quality: Agile Strategy in Asian Network." This event brought together quality professionals from the Asian regions to share their experiences with experts in the field of quality management.

Tan Kay Chuan(A/Prof) and Nachimuthu Sangeetha (Research Engineer) won the best paper award at the symposium. Their paper is entitled "An Overview of Quality-related Awards in Singapore ."
IEEE's Engineering Management Educator of the Year Award to Professor Goh
Professor TN Goh has been named by the Board of Governors of IEEE Engineering Management Society the recipient of the 2004 IEEE EMS " Engineering Management Educator of the Year Award ".
The citation reads: "For leadership in the development of management educational programs and of research programs studying techniques for the training of management of product design and development."
