Dr
WANG Hui, a recent PhD graduate of the ISE Department and currently
with Bank One Card Services, Inc., USA, is a member of the team
that won the 2002 Daniel H. Wagner Prize for the Excellence in
Operations Research Practice awarded by INFORMS. Other members
of the winning team include Margaret S. Trench, Shane P. Pederson,
Edward T. Lau, and Lizhi Ma of Bank One Card Services, Inc., USA,
and Suresh K. Nair of School of Business, University of Connecticut,
USA.
WANG
Hui received her PhD degree from NUS in 2000 with Prof GOH Thong
Ngee and A/Prof XIE Min of the ISE Department as her project supervisors.
After working for a while at Productivity and Quality Research
Centre in NUS, she joined the FirstUSA Bank whose parent company
is Bank One, the America's sixth-largest bank holding company.
Bank One Card Services has been chosen by INFORMS as the award
winner in 2002 for its PORTICO, a portfolio optimization and control
system used to manage credit line and APR changes which WANG Hui
had helped to develop.
