Applications are invited for the position of Head, Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE), National University of Singapore. The 34-year-old Department's mission is to provide quality education and leadership in research, development and application of technology and knowledge in the ISE domain.

The Department's current student population comprises about 200 undergraduates, 250 coursework and research-based Masters students, and 80 PhD students. Its 17 regular and 7 adjunct faculty members are engaged in research and educational activities that are focused on four identified thrust areas: Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Quality Engineering, Systems Modeling & Optimization, and Service & Innovation Management. Research is well-supported by both the public and private sectors.

The ISE Department is one of eight departments/divisions within the Faculty of Engineering. The Faculty, which is the largest in the university, has established programs in the major areas of engineering. NUS was ranked 9th in the world for Technology in the last survey by The Times of London . The Head will be responsible for envisioning the roadmap through which the Department can excel in achieving its mission, developing and implementing a series of plans over various time horizons to meet the goals along the roadmap, networking with public and private sector organizations to build and maintain support for the Department, and strengthening ties and establishing alliance with appropriate international partners and professional institutions.
