The 4th International Conference on Quality and Reliability was successfully held on 9 - 11 August, 2005, in Beijing , China . The conference was hosted by School of Management & Economics, Beijing Institute of Technology. ISE Department served as co-organizers of the Conference, together with Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong . Professor TN Goh served as General co-chair and Prof M Xie as Program co-chair of this conference. The conference was attended by several ISE staff and students. Many papers related to the broad theme of quality and reliability, such as six sigma, service quality, design for quality and reliability, Maintenance optimization, Quality Management were presented.

The objective of the ICQR Conference is to provide a forum for academics and practitioners from around the world to share the results of recent research efforts, visions and experiences in the field of quality and reliability. The earlier conferences were held in Hong Kong and Australia . Singapore has been proposed to be the venue for the next conference in 2007.
