Abstract: In this non-technical talk, the speaker will explain and illustrate certain principles and tools useful to individuals and organizations aiming at surviving and succeeding in a complex and changing world where common sense or experience is no longer sufficient.

Speaker: Goh Thong Ngee, PhD, PE, is Professor of Industrial & Systems Engineering and a former Dean of Engineering at NUS. He specializes in the industrial application of methodologies for excellence in quality. Professor Goh is the Founding President of the Singapore Institute of Industrial Engineers, an elected Academician of the International Academy for Quality, a Fellow of the American Society for Quality, and currently serves on the editorial boards of several leading international journals in quality engineering and management.
