Ellis Johnson, Coca-Cola Chaired Professor in the School of
Industrial and Systems Engineering of Georgia Institute of
Technology, has recently been appointed Temasek Professor.
The position is jointly hosted by the Department of Industrial
and Systems Engineering (ISE) and the Logistics Institute
- Asia Pacific (TLI-AP). Together with faculty members and
research staff from the ISE Department and the TLI-AP, Professor
Johnson will be involved in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
projects and will lead a group working on Air Transport and
Logistics. During the course of his Professorship, he will
also organize and deliver special lectures and seminars, and
co-supervise and train research students in logistics from
the ISE Department and TLI-AP.
The Temasek Professorship Scheme was initiated by the National
Science and Technology Board to attract world famous scientists
to engage in cutting edge research projects in Singapore and
to provide opportunity for information and technology transfer.
The appointment of each Temasek Professor is for three years,
during which time, the appointee will work with members of
a university staff team on a strategic research project.
