Abstract
The presentation describes the forecasting process for Repair Centers at Hewlett-Packard. This presentation will talk about:
The forecasting process that we are using to support the materials planning process
How we use the phases of product life cycle to influence the forecasts
How we create the quality control process to monitor and control our forecast accuracy
How we create the proactive weekly score card to see the impacts of inaccurate forecast to the level on inventory
Biography
Dr Viroj Buraparate is a Forecasting and Operations Research Manager at Hewlett-Packard in Houston, Texas. He received his Ph.D. in Operations Research from Texas Tech University. He has 14+ years of experience in developing forecasting and optimization processes for multiple industries. Before joining HP, he led the optimization team at PROS Revenue Management company to built the Optimization and Pricing engines for all PROS’ clients (e.g, Fed Ex, Disney, Hertz, Shell/Motiva, and Continental Airlines). Since joining HP in 2004, he has successfully built a world class analytical process to support both CC and HW operations in CSD. He has been invited to present his works in multiple national conferences and currently has two patents pending of his pricing models with USPTO.
