Abstract
The scope of this presentation is the integrated safety and reliability treatment of the important aspects of complex industrial systems and processes. The main emphasis is focused on the use of reliability based methods for the improving and optimizing the transportation systems and processes from the point of maintenance, availability and their operation processes organizing. The approaches include modeling the reliability of the systems throughout their operation processes so as to be able to study the impact of new maintenance and repair schemes on system safety, reliability, serviceability and quality. Methods for the assessment and improvement of existing real complex structures and operation processes will be described as well as approaches and criteria for extending and optimizing the lifetime of real systems and processes safety with adequate levels of reliability and availability. The main stress will be given to the new methods in safety and reliability of complex transport systems and processes investigation and to the integration of the achieved issues into practically useful packages of tools. The idea of safety and reliability management systems for various transport sectors will be presented as well.
