Professor Goh Thong Ngee obtained his BE from the Unviersity of Saskatchewan, Canada and PhD from the Unviersity of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.  He is Academician of the International Academy for Quality (IAQ), Fellow of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and Honorary Member of the Singapore Quality Institute (SQI).  He is the Founding President of the Singapore Institute of Industrial Engineers (previously known as the American Institute of Industrial Engineers Singapore Chapter), former President of the Singapore Statistics Institue, as well as Vice President and Honorary Secretary of the Singapore Operational Research Society. Professor Goh is formerly Head of Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, and Director, Office of Quality Management, among many adminstrative appointments at NUS. Recent international honors include: "Educator of the Year" Award of the IEEE Engineering Management Soceity, the inaugural Dr Masing Book Prize of the IAQ, and the William G Hunter Award of the ASQ Statistics Division.  Professor Goh currently serves on the editorial boards of eight international research journals; he has published more than two hundred technical papers and has authored or coauthored four advanced books on Quality.  Professor Goh's paper "A Strategic Review of Six Sigma" is the only title that appears on both the latest lists of "Most Downloaded Papers" and "Most Cited Papers" in Quality and Reliability Engineering International published by Wiley-Blackwell.
