Professor Goh Thong Ngee obtained his BE from the Unviersity of Saskatchewan, Canada and PhD from the Unviersity of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. Prof Goh is a Founding Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore. He is Academician of the International Academy for Quality (IAQ), Fellow of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and Honorary Member of the Singapore Quality Institute (SQI). He is the Founding President of the Singapore Institute of Industrial Engineers (previously known as the American Institute of Industrial Engineers Singapore Chapter), former President of the Singapore Institue of Statistics, as well as Vice President and Honorary Secretary of the Singapore Operational Research Society. He has served on the National Productivity Board and the Defence Science and Technology Agency. More details in Professor Goh's personal web page here.


Professor Goh is formerly Head of Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, and Director, Office of Quality Management, among many administrative appointments at NUS that he has held. Recent international honors and awards include: "Educator of the Year" Award of the IEEE Engineering Management Society, the inaugural Dr Masing Book Prize of the IAQ, the William G Hunter Award of the ASQ Statistics Division, the Harrington-Ishikawa Medal of the Asia-Pacific Quality Organization, and the Grant Medal of the ASQ. Professor Goh has authored or co-authored more than four hundred technical papers and five books, and currently serves on the editorial boards of twelve international research journals
